The stage is set for an exciting new chapter in transatlantic sporting competition as the Anglo American Padel Cup announces its inaugural edition, scheduled for October 10-11, 2025, at Rocket Padel’s brand-new facility in Beckton, London. With the backing of the LTA and USPA, this landmark event is poised to become a staple in the international padel calendar.

Taking inspiration from iconic sporting rivalries such as the America’s Cup, Ryder Cup, and Davis Cup, the Anglo American Padel Cup will bring elite competitors from Great Britain and the United States together in a high-stakes showdown. The competition will feature four categories—Open, 40s, 50s, and 60s—ensuring representation across different age groups while maintaining an equal balance between men’s and women’s teams.

Rocket Padel, the UK’s leading indoor padel operator, will play host to the event at its soon-to-open Beckton club. The state-of-the-art venue will feature five indoor courts, three outdoor courts, a full-service gym, bar and café, wellness amenities including saunas and cold plunge pools, and a second-floor viewing platform—making it a premier destination for both players and fans.

The Anglo American Padel Cup has secured strong institutional support, with the LTA serving as the Event Officiator and the USPA officially endorsing the competition.

“The LTA is proud to support the inaugural Anglo American Padel Cup by providing officials for this landmark tournament,” said Tom Murray, Head of Padel at the LTA. “This event marks the beginning of an exciting transatlantic rivalry, reflecting the rapid growth of padel in both Britain and the United States.”

Scott Colebourne, CEO of the USPA, echoed the sentiment, stating, “The USPA is pleased to endorse this event and recognizes its potential importance to the growth of padel in the USA and Britain. We expect the Anglo American Padel Cup to become a permanent fixture of international padel competitions.”

Britain’s top-ranked padel players have been tapped to lead their respective squads in the Open category.

“I am excited to be captaining Britain’s Men’s team in the inaugural Anglo American Padel Cup,” said Rafa Vega, LTA Number 1 Men’s Player. “To lead our team against the U.S. at a home venue like Rocket Padel Beckton will be a moment of pride. We’re aiming for victory in this historic competition.”

British Women’s Captain Eloise Tait shared her enthusiasm: “It’s a huge moment for British padel, and I’m honored to be part of this first-ever Anglo American Padel Cup. The sport is growing rapidly, and this event will be key in strengthening international ties and inspiring future players.”

Following its debut in London, the tournament will rotate annually between the UK and the US, reinforcing the long-standing sporting rivalry between the two nations.

Rocket Padel’s Founder & Chief Commercial Officer, Sebastian Gordon, expressed excitement about hosting the event: “We’re thrilled to bring the Anglo American Padel Cup to Beckton and welcome top talent from Britain and America. London’s padel fans are in for an incredible experience.”

Co-founders Bill Ullman, Joelle Quinn, and Ben Nichols highlighted the broader vision of the competition. “We couldn’t ask for a better venue than Rocket Padel to host the first edition. This event will unite cultures, showcase elite talent, and add a new chapter to the historic sporting rivalry between our nations.”

With the foundations set for a thrilling contest, anticipation is building for October 2025, when Great Britain and the United States will go head-to-head for the first-ever Anglo American Padel Cup.
