USPA Padel Stars Set to Battle for Wild Cards at Miami Premier Padel P1

The United States Padel Association (USPA) has revealed further details and the top-ranked players set to compete in the Wild Card Tournament for the Motorola Razr Miami Premier Padel P1. Taking place at Epic Padel Athletic Club in Sunrise, Florida, from March 14-15, the tournament will determine which American players will earn Wild Card entries into the main draw of the Miami Premier Padel P1, one of the most significant professional padel events in the U.S. to date.

The Motorola Razr Miami Premier Padel P1 is a landmark event for American padel, offering U.S. players a chance to compete at the highest level in front of a global audience. Tournament Director Fernando Belasteguin underscored the importance of this opportunity, stating, “I have always understood that in sports you have to earn opportunities on the field. I have no doubt that helping American players will give us greater visibility to the sport and enable it to continue to grow strongly in the United States.”

The Wild Card Tournament will be a crucial moment in U.S. padel history, with Charlie Moon, Tournament Director for the Wild Card Tournament, adding, “Together we will reach a milestone for the first time with so many American flags in the men’s and women’s draw of a Premier Padel tournament. We hope this inspires current and future generations of American padel players to work hard in the coming years and push forward in their careers.”

The tournament will feature some of the top U.S. padel players, all vying for a coveted Wild Card spot.

Women’s Field:

  • Brittany Dubins – The Miami native and No. 1 player on the USPA Circuit is ranked 126th in the world. She dominated the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit, winning all four major events, including the inaugural US Open Padel Championships. Dubins also represented the USA at the FIP World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
  • Marta Morga – Ranked 5th in the Nox USPA Circuit and 178th in the world, Morga has been a force on the tour. She won the RGV USPA 1000, made the semi-finals at the US Open Padel Championships, and was part of the USA squad at the FIP World Championships.

Men’s Field:

  • Nico Agritelley – The Dallas-based player is currently ranked 5th in the USPA Rankings. He won the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit Master Finals and played a vital role in helping the U.S. National Team achieve their best-ever finish at the FIP World Championships.
  • Vinny Di Francesco – The New York-born rising star has made waves at both the junior and open-level U.S. National Teams. A standout performer at the 2024 FIP World Championships, Di Francesco won three of his six matches, contributing to the USA’s historic finish.

The USA Men’s National Padel Team Head Coach, Luis Fernando Ramirez, emphasized the importance of this Wild Card Tournament, stating, “I’m thrilled to see this Wild Card Tournament provide an exclusive opportunity for American players to compete on the biggest stage. In padel, opportunities are earned on the court, and this tournament is the perfect chance for US talent to prove themselves and secure a spot in Miami Premier Padel P1.”

Ramirez also expressed gratitude toward Fernando Belasteguin and Premier Padel for their commitment to growing the sport in the U.S., adding, “This initiative will not only elevate American players but also drive padel’s expansion across the country.
