The global padel tourism scene took center stage in Miami as Club Águilas, often described as “Padel’s answer to the Michelin Guide,” hosted its first-ever Club & Resort of The Year Awards. With an elite gathering of industry VIPs from travel, finance, real estate, and media, the event celebrated the finest padel clubs and resorts worldwide. After a fierce competition spanning five continents, Reserve Seaplane was crowned Club of the Year 2025, while NIHI Sumba earned the title of Resort of the Year 2025.

Known as “the world’s most photographed club,” Reserve Seaplane has become a hub for top-tier padel and celebrity matches, with icons like David Beckham, Jimmy Butler, and Andrew Schulz gracing its courts. The six-court waterfront venue, located in Miami, edged out strong contenders such as Nueva Alcántara Club, Beaverbrook, and Matcha Club to take home the prestigious award. “We are thrilled to be the recipient of this award,” said Jack Lee, Manager of Reserve Seaplane. “This venue is where we launched the brand, hosted the historic Reserve Cup, and built the foundation of our community.”

Over in Indonesia, NIHI Sumba, a two-time World’s Best Hotel winner, claimed the Resort of the Year title for its breathtaking combination of luxury, adventure, and padel. Situated on Sumba Island, this remote paradise is renowned for its world-class surf breaks, hydrofoiling, and deep-sea fishing, with padel now added to its exclusive list of activities. “It is a testament to our dedicated team and guests who celebrate our vision in bringing together wellness, community, and adventure,” said James McBride, CEO of NIHI Sumba. “We continue to push the boundaries of experiential travel.”

Founded in 2024, Club Águilas recognizes the highest standards of luxury, service, and padel excellence. The winners receive their coveted “Eagles Wings”, padel’s equivalent to a Michelin Star. “Reserve Seaplane and NIHI Sumba have set the benchmark for what Club Águilas is all about: world-class venues, unforgettable experiences, and a growing global appetite for luxury padel travel,” said Joe Middleton and Ben Nichols, Founders of Club Águilas.

With padel’s global footprint expanding, Club Águilas will continue to highlight the most elite padel destinations worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates on the clubs and resorts shaping the future of luxury padel tourism, right here on The Padel Weekly.
