The Pro Padel League (PPL), North America’s first professional padel league, has announced the team rosters for its highly anticipated final event of the 2024 regular season in San Diego. The event, which will take place from August 19th to 25th at the prestigious Barnes Tennis Center, promises to be a showcase of some of the world’s top padel talent, with over 60% of the players ranked in the top 50 globally.

The competition will feature ten PPL teams, each representing iconic cities across North America. Teams like the Los Angeles BEAT, Miami Padel Club, Las Vegas Smash, and Flowrida GOATS are leading the standings heading into this critical event. Fans can expect to see some of the sport’s most decorated players, including Ariana Sanchez (world no. 1, Miami Padel Club), Pablo Lima (former no. 1, Flowrida Goats), Juan Martín Díaz (no. 1 for 14 years, New York Atlantics), and Marta Ortega (former no. 1, current no. 6, Las Vegas Smash).

“Our final event of the regular season in San Diego is going to have unbelievable competition and intense, exciting matches,” said Marcos del Pilar, PPL Commissioner. “We are looking forward to an incredible week of matches and seeing which PPL teams qualify for the PPL Cup in November.”

San Diego’s event will also see the PPL debut of top players such as Federico Chingotto (world no. 8, New York Atlantics), Martin Di Nenno (world no. 5, Orlando Smash), and Alejandra Salazar (world no. 7, Cancun Waves). The only professional padel league to feature both male and female athletes, PPL continues to set the standard for competitive padel in North America.

The tournament format includes men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles matches, with round-robin play taking place from August 19th through the 23rd. The semifinals will be held on August 24th, with the final showdown on August 25th. As the competition heats up, the top eight teams in the standings will advance to the PPL Cup in November.

Currently leading the standings are the Los Angeles BEAT, followed closely by the Miami Padel Club, Las Vegas Smash, and Flowrida GOATS. Teams like the San Diego Stingrays, Cancun Waves, and Houston Volts will be looking to make a strong push in their home event to secure a spot in the PPL Cup.

For those in the San Diego area, tickets are now available, offering a range of options from general admission to VIP experiences. This is a unique opportunity to witness world-class padel in action, right in the heart of California.
