In a major milestone for the sport of padel, New York City will host the inaugural US Open Padel Championships from Friday, October 4th to Sunday, October 6th, 2024. The prestigious tournament, set to take place at the state-of-the-art Padel Haus Dumbo, will feature equal prize pools of $15,000 for both men’s and women’s divisions, marking a significant step in promoting gender equality in the sport.
As the final major event on the 2024 Nox USPA Circuit, the tournament will showcase the best players from across the United States and beyond, with a 64-team draw in the top division. Fans can look forward to a thrilling weekend of padel action, with all main matches streamed live from the Padel Haus Dumbo courts, while divisions 2 and 3 matches will take place at nearby venues in Domino Park and Williamsburg.
According to Ryan Redondo, Chair of the US Open Sub-Committee of the USPA, “This is a huge moment for padel in the United States, and we are thrilled to bring the inaugural US Open to New York City. One of the largest metropolises in the world, New York is home to a diverse community that has truly embraced the spirit of padel and will provide a brilliant host for this historic tournament.”
The tournament offers the opportunity to put padel on the map in the United States, where the sport is experiencing a boom. In the first half of 2024 alone, 25 new padel clubs have opened nationwide, signaling a growing interest in the sport.

The tournament will run in a 64-team format for both men’s and women’s divisions, with registration closing on Friday, September 27th. Players interested in competing are encouraged to register early on the World Padel Rating website, as spots are expected to fill up fast.
