The excitement is palpable as Doha prepares to host the 2024 FIP World Padel Championships, set to take place from October 28 to November 2 at the prestigious Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex. This highly anticipated event will feature 16 national teams in men’s and women’s categories, showcasing the pinnacle of international team padel competition.

The International Padel Federation (FIP) and the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) have chosen Doha for its state-of-the-art facilities, extensive player support, and robust security measures. Additionally, the local enthusiasm for padel, driven by the proactive efforts of the QTF, has made Qatar a prime location for this prestigious tournament.

Luis Fernando Ramirez, coach of Team USA, expressed his excitement: “The World Championship is the ultimate stage for a player to represent their country on a team level. It’s a privilege and a reward for their dedication and hard work.” As the qualification phase progresses, Ramirez is eager to see which teams will emerge as rivals. “We have a strong group ready to make some noise and take the USA flag to Qatar.”

With a prize pool of €500,000 equally split between men’s and women’s categories, the championship reflects the sport’s commitment to gender equality. This biennial event not only celebrates top-tier athletic talent but also upholds the principles of fairness and inclusivity in sports.

Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation, praised Doha as a premier location for padel: “Doha is a special home for padel – the Qatar Tennis Federation has played an integral role in repeatedly delivering unparalleled international padel tournaments.” He looks forward to the excellent hospitality and conditions that Qatar consistently offers.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, President of the Qatar Tennis Federation, highlighted Qatar’s history of hosting major sporting events: “Qatar has an exceptional track record of delivering fantastic major sporting events based on the highest standards. We are delighted to partner with the International Padel Federation to deliver this pinnacle tournament.”

This year’s 2024 FIP World Padel Championships returns to Doha after the successful 2022 edition, where teams from 19 countries competed, with Spain and Argentina taking top honors. The 2024 event aims to build on that success, featuring the world’s most talented padel athletes.
