Coello and Tapia Ready to Dominate Santiago Premier P1 Padel Tournament

The Banco de Chile Santiago Premier Padel P1 competition is set to take place from May 27 to June 2, 2024, featuring an exciting lineup of the world’s best Padel players. This prestigious tournament will be held at the Movistar Arena, a 12,000-seat venue, and boasts one of the largest prize pools in the sport, totaling 500,000 euros (or around $540,000 American).

The men’s draw includes 48 pairs, with the top 16 seeds advancing directly to the second round. The top-seeded duo of Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia will face either Chilean wild cards Ignacio Andres Lehyt and Sebastian Munoz Campos or the team of Nachi Sager and Salva Oria. Another powerhouse pair, Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebron are expected to make their debut against qualifiers.

Second-seeded Fede Chingotto and Ale Galán will play their first match against the winners of the game between Denis Perino/Pablo Garcia Rodrigo and Aris Patiniotis/Facundo Dominguez. Possible thrilling quarterfinal matchups include Sanchez/Gutierrez vs. Navarro/Lebron, Coello/Tapia vs. Tello/Belasteguin, and Stupaczuk/Di Nenno vs. Yanguas/Garrido.

The women’s draw features 32 pairs, including some highly anticipated matches. Top seeds Paula Josemaria and Ari Sanchez will start against Araceli Martinez and Marina Guinart. The #2 seeds, Delfi Brea and Bea Gonzalez will compete against Nuria Rodriguez and Maria Eulalia Rodriguez Abajo. Third-seeded Gemma Triay and Claudia Fernandez will face off against Carlotta Casali and Arantxa Soriano.

Exciting potential quarterfinals include Salazar/Icardo vs. Riera/Araujo, Castelló-Jensen vs. Triay/Fernandez, and Josemaria/Sanchez vs. Ortega/Virseda.
