Álex Ruiz to miss Acapulco and Venezuela Due to Injury

March 18, 2024

The Málaga native also used this moment to extend a heartfelt farewell to Juan Tello, his would-be partner for these competitions.

The padel community was buzzing with excitement over the newly formed duo of Momo González and Álex Ruiz. Meanwhile, Tello’s decision to pair with Bela meant the matches in Mexico and Venezuela were set to be a memorable send-off for the Tello-Ruiz partnership. However, fate had other plans, as Ruiz’s injury will now prevent this final hurrah alongside ‘Gato’ (Tello).

Ruiz shared a touching tribute to his former partner, saying, “Thank you for the effort and work during this time, Gato, even though things didn’t work out for us, we gave it our all. I’ll always remember that week in Malaga where we showed our full potential. Gato, I’m leaving playing with a great player, but I’m taking with me a friend and an excellent person. Good luck in your new stage!”

Echoing the sentiment, Tello expressed his well-wishes on Instagram: “Captain, I wish you a speedy recovery and all the best in the future. I’m sure it will be so because you’re a great player and a fantastic guy. Although maybe we haven’t achieved the results that both of us would have liked, I cherish a great memory of our partnership.”

As we see these shifts and turns within the padel world, it’s clear that while partnerships may change, the bonds formed on and off the court last a lifetime. We wish Álex Ruiz a swift recovery and look forward to seeing both players thrive in their new journeys.
